About Me
Sophia Sunflower Salon, Inc /MYHoneyChild was founded by Krika Bradsher, and is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is a one women establishment, owned and operated. I get asked this all the time why is your business named Sophia, if your name is Krika. In other words ..Why'z you call her Olivia when dat ain't her name? Well, the name Sophia originated from motivation, watching the movie The Color Purple. Sofia in the movie was a strong will and determined woman, she also stood for independent womanhood. Sofia was the wife of Harpo, step daughter-in-law to Celie and daughter-in-law to Mister. With an expression like Miss Celie; You better bust mister up side his head and worry about heaven later made you to believe that, you have to do what you have to do, to survive and stay strong, and simply face the consequences later, good or bad. The color purple exemplifies the endless possibilities to Sofia, Celie and all Afro-American women if they only stand up for their human and constitutional rights. So you see Krika is Sophia and Sofia is Krika. Now the Sunflower part began merely from the fact that I adore sunflower seeds. I enjoy them so much that eating one or two bags of Frito Lay Sunflower Seeds a day is not extraordinary. Hence, Sophia Sunflower and MYHoneyChild was created. I have always been natural. With my many years of being a cosmetologist and being natural i have worked with many textures and have spent endless hours researching hair textures . Natural hair is my business . The most common problem I hear from clients is dryness, breakage and moisture. My research and interest lead me to create MYHoneyChild Products for people with hair like mine and to alleviate the lack of moisture.
